This year the Beehive class got to do the New Beginnigs program for church. We were all pretty excited. The theme we went with was "Lord's ARMY (A Righteous Mormon Youth)" with a B.O.O.T. Camp focus (Building Our Own Testimonies).
I was able to get some posters and banners from an Army Recruiting office, and one of the other leaders was able to get a TON of camo netting from her friend at Camp Williams, so awesome! The other decorations were donated from officers or purchased/made. The gym looked great!

When each of the Young Women arrived, they had to check in and received a dog tag (with the 2011 theme) and a camo bandanna. They could also get a little camouflage painted on their cheeks.
Then there was a little "Field Training" course for them to do...

The program was really nice. There were some great talks on the young women's program, personal progress, and the youth theme for 2011. There was also a little skit that the Beehives did (with the help from Josh) about the "Great War" in Heaven and who we choose to follow, that also included the values, colors, and their meanings. It was a really fun skit and Josh did a little improvising with the girls that was hilarious!
There was also a really beautiful music number performed by some more young women.
Then introduction of the new recruits (new beehives) and closing remarks.
We had cupcakes for refreshments, of course! We served them in a "Mess Tent" aka tent canopy with netting

I also printed fun little water bottle labels too, can we say OCD!
It was alot of fun to plan and I know the girls had a blast doing it. It also helped fulfill some of my party planning issues (wink, wink). Thanks for Keri, Josh, and all the rest of the wonderful leaders who helped make the evening so great!
