G.Q. Mason

We went and got pictures done of Mason today. It has been about a year since the last time, so we figured he was due. We were worried that it would be a terrible experience again, but he did surprisingly well! He smiled and held the poses pretty good. We love Kiddie Kandids. They are a bit more pricey, but worth it. The pictures turned out so cute that I just have to share them with everyone. He has grown so much in the past year. He doesn't look like my little baby anymore, and looks more like his dad everyday (which is also a good thing).

Isn't he just SO handsome!

Summer Fun

We had alot of fun this summer with friends and family. Some of the exciting things we did was go to the Hogle Zoo, Lagoon for David's work party, various parks, play with cousins in the water, the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving point, camping, picnics and play-dates with kids in the ward, good old family reunions, and so much more. We are sad that the summer is over, it just flew by so fast! Hope you all had lots of fun as well, and honestly not looking forward to the bitter cold of winter, it will be here before you know it, BUUUUURRRRRR!!!

Burke Reunion

Last weekend we went camping up at Island Park, Idaho for a family reunion. We had missed the camping trip the last two years, so we were determined to go this year. And we are glad we did, it was a blast!

We arrived on Friday and got our tent and stuff all set up. It was my brother's birthday, so we had a little celebration. My oldest sister made him a really cute birthday cake and homemade ice cream. She put the ingredients for the ice cream in a zip lock baggie and then put that baggie in a larger baggie with lots of ice and everyone took turns shaking it around. It took a while, but tasted yummy!

Happy Birthday Jeff!!!

Jeff is a computer nerd (and I mean that in the best possible way), so Shaie made him this cute cake of a guy playing a computer game!

Making ice cream

On Saturday, they had some fun activities for the kids to do. The kids painted flower pots, did a little outdoor scavenger hunt, and had a three-legged race. David helped Mason paint his pot, and I helped him with the scavenger hunt. I wasn't sure if he would do the race, but he actually did pretty good. All the kids got prizes like bubbles, balls, and other little toys.

They had activities for adults as well. We made small first aid kits to put in the car or 72 hour kit, had a cake decorating class, and also a three-legged race. I got to teach some basic decorating. The icing wasn't the best because of the heat, but everyone had some fun. Me and David totally sucked it up at the three-legged race, we came in dead last. In my defense, let me just say that his legs are alot longer that mine so our strides were way off!!!

We also went to Yellowstone National Park with Brandon and Alex that afternoon. I hadn't been since I was really little, so I was excited to go. We stopped and saw the Artist Paint Pots (Mason called them "Stinky Hot Water") and Old Faithful. It was so beautiful, and I wish we had more time to see it all.

Stinky Hot Water (I will never look at hard boiled eggs the same!)

Old Faithful

I could go on for pages about all the fun things that we did, but I know you all are probably pretty bored with reading this already, so I will just end with a couple more fun photos and say that I am really looking forward to it again next year!

My Cake Site

Yay! David's mom found the software, I finally updated my website last night. It took me quite a while to do because I had a bunch cakes to add from the past few months. I am just glad that it's finally all done, for now! You can check them all out, and the rest of my creations, anytime at sweetenyourday.com or by clicking on the icon located under Jen's Cakes.

Shiny New Trike

Mason got a Radio Flyer tricycle on his birthday. It came all boxed up, so David and his uncle Davey finally assembled it on Sunday. It turned out really cute. Mason was so excited, his faced just gleamed as he said,
"Mason's red bicycle!" (He often refers to himself in the third-person) He immediately had to go try it out - with help from daddy!

Pushing Mason along because he can't
quite pedal himself yet.

Ding! Ding!

Going for a joy ride!

Harry Potter

I saw this on one of my friends blogs and I just HAD to add it to mine. I got chills the whole time I watched it! The Half Blood Prince is my favorite out of all seven, I am SOOOOOOO dang excited that I can't stand it!

The countdown is on, I will so be there at midnight!
