Mason On Wheels

My sweet little niece had a skating birthday party last Saturday at Hollywood Connections. Mason had never been skating before and we were excited to take him. I thought that he would love it, but he had mixed emotions about it.



He was happy to get the skates on and try. But once he had them on, he soon fell and didn't think it was so exciting after that. But David kept good hold of him and took him around the rink a couple of times.

He started to enjoy it a bit more after that, and decided to try it himself!

It was more walking than skating, but still very brave and very cute!

Herriman Beach

What?!? Beach? In Utah? That's right! One of David's friends told him about this little "man-made" beach out in Herriman. Mason has been literally dying to go to a beach ever since Grandma and Grandpa Hanna went to the Oregon coast. Okay, not literally, but he likes to pretend all the time that he is at a beach, playing and swimming. When we told him about it, he got all excited and said, "Oh, We don't have to play beach anymore, we can actually go!"




Me and Avery didn't swim because there was a little breeze and I didn't want her to get too cold, but she still enjoyed splashing and kicking her legs in it.

Avery really liked playing in the sand...

Mason also enjoyed playing in the sand so much that he didn't want to leave, even when he was shivering from the breeze.


The view is pretty nice, and we had a good time. And best of all, it's fun and FREE!

Dino-Mite 4th Birthday

A couple weeks ago my little man turned 4, I know I can't believe it myself! Where has the time gone?!? I have been so bad at blogging the past couple months, but better late then never they say. So as the result of the poll I had up, a Dino party was the winner, and Mason was pretty excited about it too. We did two separate little parties, one for some of his little friends, and one for our family.

The Decorations:




The inside decorations were simpler this year, but still fun.




The Party Animal!

Dino Dig:
I got some mini dinosaur skeletons and put them in plaster a couple of days before the party.


But it didn't take too long before it turned into this...

At last! BONES!


I had pictures of the dinosaurs that they were supposed to try and match them up, it was pretty fun.

Next we did a little dinosaur egg hunt (pretty self explanatory). I made some dino skulls out of milk carton jugs just for fun.



I just did a simple Volcano cake for his friend party, skipped the elaborate cakes this year... but the kids loved it just the same.


Mason tried to blow out the volcano instead of candles, it was funny because he kept blowing and blowing and it just wouldn't stop! Some even joined in.

Little Dino Friends

We did the same fossil dig with the family, it started out calm...

But had the same result!

We did a pinata instead of a egg hunt for the cousins since they range in all different ages.

I tried to make the skeleton out of fondant and using a pattern, but I didn't make it for enough in advance to completely harden. When I went to put it together, the legs and neck fell apart. Bummer! So, I just stuck the regular one on there, still had the same effect.
